Description: North Carolina is fifth nationwide in the number of homeowner and condominium associations. Do you know enough to properly advise your clients? This program will explore the essentials of community associations, important differences between condos and HOAs, questions to ask to protect your client (and yourself), and recently adopted/proposed legislation impacting community associations as well as brokers.

Bio: Jim Slaughter is a partner in the law firm of Black, Slaughter & Black, which has one of the state’s largest homeowner and condo association practices with 4 offices, including Greensboro. He was the first North Carolina attorney inducted as a Fellow into the national College of Community Association Lawyers, and Jim served as the College’s 2014 national President.
