Effective date: 10/7/2026

Greensboro Regional REALTORS® Association, Inc. (“GRRA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and retain information through grra.org, our GrowthZone-hosted member portal, our online registration and application forms, and our text-messaging services.

  1. Information we collect

We collect information you voluntarily provide when you submit an application, register for an event or program, update your member profile, complete a form, contact us, or communicate with us by text message.

Depending on your interaction with GRRA, this information may include:

  • Name.

  • Email address.

  • Mailing or street address.

  • Telephone number.

  • Company or brokerage information.

  • Real estate license information.

  • Information included in your inquiries, applications, registrations, or other communications.

  • Text-message content, messaging preferences, and records of SMS consent or opt-out requests.

We also use Google Analytics to collect information about visits to our website, as described below.

  1. How we use information

We use information to administer membership, process applications and registrations, maintain member records, respond to inquiries, provide customer service, communicate about GRRA services and activities, and support association operations.

We may also use information to fulfill our agreements with affiliated real estate organizations, maintain appropriate business records, comply with applicable legal obligations, and evaluate or improve our website and services.

When you opt in to text messages, we use your telephone number and related information to provide the messaging services described in this policy and our SMS Messaging Terms.

  1. Website platforms and service providers

GRRA operates a WordPress website and uses GrowthZone to host its member portal and online registration and application forms. We use Google Analytics for website analytics and Text Request to support text-message communications.

These providers may process information as needed to deliver their services. Their processing may also be governed by their own privacy policies and contractual terms.

  1. Google Analytics and cookies

Our website uses Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors find and use the site. Google Analytics may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about website activity, such as pages visited, traffic sources, device and browser information, and technical identifiers.

You may manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of some website or member-portal features.

  1. Member directories and rosters

Our public-facing member directories display only a member’s name, telephone number, and website, with visibility controlled by the member through the available directory settings.

GRRA provides member and attendee rosters only to members under existing association policies. These rosters do not offer a download option.

GRRA does not sell member or attendee lists or provide those lists to nonmembers.

These directory and roster practices do not authorize disclosure of SMS opt-in or consent records, which are subject to the separate protections described below.

  1. Sharing with affiliated organizations

Under the terms of our agreements, GRRA provides information to Triad MLS, the National Association of REALTORS® (“NAR”), and NC REALTORS®.

Depending on the applicable agreement and purpose, shared information may include names, company information, addresses, and contact information.

These organizations maintain their own privacy policies governing their handling of information. Individuals should review those policies for information about each organization’s practices.

This routine association-related sharing does not include permission for those organizations to use GRRA’s SMS opt-in or consent records for their own messaging programs.

  1. Other disclosures

We may disclose information when required by applicable law, a valid legal process, or a lawful request from an authorized government authority.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to protect GRRA’s legal rights, address suspected misuse of our services, or protect the safety of individuals, subject to applicable law.

  1. Text messaging and mobile information

GRRA uses Text Request to communicate with members who have opted in to receive text messages and with individuals who initiate text conversations requesting information or assistance.

Our messaging program supports member engagement and customer service. Messages may include association updates, service-related information, and responses to questions or requests.

Message frequency varies. Participants may receive approximately one to two messages per week, with additional messages during active customer-service conversations. Association-wide or group announcements generally occur no more than one to two times per month. Message and data rates may apply.

GRRA does not sell or share mobile information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with third parties, except with aggregators and service providers necessary to operate and deliver GRRA’s text-messaging services.

The sharing practices described elsewhere in this policy do not authorize sharing SMS opt-in or consent information for another organization’s marketing, promotional, or messaging purposes.

You may opt out of GRRA text messages at any time by replying STOP. For assistance, contact Peter Johnston at pjohnston@grra.org or 336-854-5868.

Opting out of text messages does not cancel your membership or event registration. GRRA may continue to communicate with you through other appropriate channels.

  1. Retention

GRRA retains electronic and physical records under its document retention and destruction policy, taking into account operational needs, applicable legal requirements, contractual obligations, and the need to resolve disputes.

Retention periods vary by record type. Certain records may need to be retained after a membership ends or after an individual requests deletion.

We may retain records of messaging consent and opt-out requests as needed to document preferences and prevent further messaging to individuals who have opted out.

  1. Access, corrections, and privacy requests

Members may review or update information and directory preferences through the member portal where those functions are available.

You may also contact GRRA to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information we maintain about you, or to ask questions about our privacy practices.

We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will evaluate requests under applicable law, our retention requirements, and our operational and contractual obligations. We may not be able to delete information that we must retain.

  1. Information security

GRRA uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect the information it maintains. No website, electronic system, or method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

  1. Dispute-resolution information

For information about complaints involving real estate professionals and available dispute-resolution options, visit GRRA’s Dispute Resolution page.

Any additional instructions or confidentiality notices provided during a dispute-resolution process apply to the relevant submissions and proceedings.

  1. External websites

Our website and member services may link to websites or services operated by other organizations. This Privacy Policy does not govern those organizations’ independent practices. Please review their privacy policies before providing information.

  1. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices, services, or applicable requirements. We will post the revised policy and update its effective date.
